A heartfelt welcome to my website.

Here you'll find information about and extracts from my books, a selection of published and unpublished articles and other snippets of information.

My writings cover a wide range - spiritual experiences, history, anthropology, the psychology of time perception and of human well-being - but I see them as an attempt to explore and explain different varieties of human experience, particularly experience which stems from what the psychologist Abraham Maslow called 'the farther reaches of human nature.'

News

My new academic paper 'Beyond the Pre-trans Fallacy: the Validity of Pre-Egoic Spiritual Experience', is about to appear in the new edition of The Journal of Transpersonal Psychology.

I'm about to begin writing my new book, which is about people who have experienced personal development or spiritual awakening as a result of psychological turmoil and physical suffering. This could be a transformation which arises after coming close to death, recovering from addiction, suffering from physical illness, depression or anxiety, or after loss or disappointment in life. If you have had such an experience and would be happy to share it with me, please contact me on essytaylor@yahoo.com

The Fall

'An important and fascinating book about the origin, history and impending demise of the ego - humanity's collective dysfunction. 'The Fall' is highly enlightening and readable, as the author's acute mind is at all times imbued with the higher faculty of spiritual awareness.'  Eckhart Tolle , author of The Power of Now

'A wonderful book...One of the most important books I've ever read.' Keith Sagar, Special Professor of English, Nottingham University and author of Literature and the Crime Against Nature

'The Fall is one of the most notable books of the first years of this century, and I am convinced it will be one of the most important books of the whole century.' Elias Capriles, The International Journal of Transpersonal Studies
